The Shinpatan and the Shinpacho are two great kata that have been passed down in the ancestral lineage of Ichikawa Isao Hanshi.
I taught these two kata in 2022 in the Shudokan Masterclass. Now I would like to make the teaching materials available to all interested.
What do you get from me?
- I have divided the course of the Shinpatan into five sections and explain the course of the kata in detail in five videos. In addition, there is a video in which I explain together with Christopher Sallai Renshi some basic practical applications for the kata. It is important to me that you are able to understand the kata.
- The same applies to the Shinpacho. Since there are very many similar techniques in Shinpacho as in Shinpatan, I have only divided this kata into four sections. Together with Christopher Sallai Renshi I have also analyzed the practical applications of the techniques of Shinpacho in a video.
- From my teachers I learned a very comprehensive karatedō. To me, karate has always been more than blocking, kicking, and punching. From my point of view, it is important to look outside the box from time to time. I visited teachers of various martial arts for you and asked them to share their interpretation for practical applications of the techniques of Shinpatan and Shinpacho. I called the videos "Bunkai Outside the Box". For me, these shared training sessions were very inspiring. I hope you can take something from them for yourself as well.
- And then I have an e-book for you, in which you can find some information about the history of the two kata and in which I have described the course of the two kata and some technical details.
